We are currently producing a video for the Dynamic Memory Lab about the everyday work of food delivery riders in Berlin. The video will be part of the interactive exhibition module “Cycles of Decolonization”: Here, the introduction to the topic of bicycle services and delivery drivers is intended to illustrate how contemporary economic systems can imitate colonial dynamics, often without the direct violence and territorial occupation of historical colonization.
This analogy is intended to help recognize the persistence of exploitative dynamics that reflect colonialism, even in today's supposedly “postcolonial” world.
